   A colonoscopy takes about two to three hours which includes the pre-procedure preparation and recovery.  You will be positioned on your left side and given oxygen to breathe during the exam.  You must have a driver to accompany you home for your safety.

This is the high-tech device which has multifunctional capability such as fiberoptics to illuminnate the colon, lavage and suction to remove colon waste, a camera for photos and video, and a separate channel for using instruments to perform biopsies and remove polyps.
